In partnership with Ra In Ho Co., Ltd., an up-and-running SME of Korea, Hyundai Corporation successfully signed off a contract at 4 p.m. on Feb. 28 (local time) for supplying a 54,000-ton ship transfer system worth about 20 billion won to the state-run Zvezda Shipyard in Russia.
The product on the contract is the largest facility of the type so far and the contract price is about 20 billion won. Ra In Ho is in charge of the entire process, covering design, production, delivery and installation.
Zvezda Shipyard is a subsidiary of FESRC (Far Eastern Shipbuilding & Ship Repair Center) and is implementing the facility expansion project with a view to upsizing in accordance with the Russian government policy to foster its shipbuilding industry. With its Moscow branch front and center, Hyundai Corporation has for a while actively operated in Russia, marketing for supplying ships and shipbuilding equipment, and has worked closely with Ra In Ho Co., Ltd. to participate in the project from its early days. Hyundai Corporation and Ra In Ho Co., Ltd. will exploit their vantage point that they have secured with the earned contract and go ahead with active efforts to win more contracts.
Meanwhile, Ra In Ho Co., Ltd. is a company created in 1992 and located in Yulchon Industrial Complex in Suncheon, Jeollanam-do, and specializes in producing self-driven heavy weight transport equipment. Possessing excellent technology including 20 or more patents at home and abroad, the company is capturing an increasing global market share in supplying heavy weight transport equipment for the world’s maritime and construction industry.
