1. What is your main role?
My primary responsibility involves managing overseas sales of steel pipes. We primarily supply domestically manufactured steel pipes, mainly from Hyundai Steel Pipe, to overseas distributors, construction companies, energy-related companies, and other steel fabricators. Additionally, I manage triangle transactions, sourcing products from countries such as China or Vietnam based on trading issues in the sales country.
Each country and customer has a different sales form, so I manage shipment schedules accordingly. I also handle accounts receivable collection after delivery of the goods.
2. If there are necessary conditions and competencies to perform the job, what would it be?
As a person in charge of overseas sales, I believe that “responsibility” is the most important value. One of the characteristics of our company is that we handle tasks from A to Z. Due to that, those who approach their tasks with responsibility can achieve different results, even if they are carrying out the same tasks.
Furthermore, I consider a passion for one’s own tasks to be one of the most important values too. In the case of steel, it is closely related to various trade issues and is highly sensitive to global changes. Having a passion for one’s work enables one to resolve unforeseen circumstances that may occur, and this attitude can lead to personal growth and success.
3. What are you proud of about Hyundai Corporation?
I think that one of the best advantages is the opportunity for professional growth. Each one can manage their own business areas and have many opportunities to engage in various businesses. Particularly, the opportunities to become an expert in their market are a significant advantage.
Additionally, we can visibly see the results of one’s hard work and effort, and it makes us feel pride and satisfaction. It is also a major advantage. Lastly, having competent team members and colleagues allows us to learn from others and adapt their expertise, which is also something we take pride in.t
4. What advice would you give to juniors who want to join the company?
I recommend maintaining a willingness to learn and keeping interested in the work. No matter how skilled, everyone will have a period of learning when starting a new job. During this time, having a strong interest in the tasks and maintaining the willingness to learn more can help to adapt to the company more quickly, and they will know how to use their strengths within the company’s system to create synergy.
