Hyundai Corporation has enacted the Code of Ethics and established the “Employee Code of Conduct” for its implementation.
This “Employee Code of Conduct” is a guideline for the implementation of the “Code of Ethics” and stipulates the minimum level of ethical behavior for employees.
All employees must comply with this “Employee Code of Conduct” as a guideline for their decision-making and behavior in performing all tasks.
1. Work Implementation
- ① Employees shall make their best efforts to establish aggressive work goals and achieve goals, and take responsibility for the results.
- ② Employees shall do their best to collect information about the items in charge and market competitors and propose new ideas.
- ③ Employees shall analyze the reasons for good or poor performance through regular performance checks and establish and implement countermeasures.
- ④ Employees shall fulfill customer satisfaction through thorough customer management by converting customer information into a database.
- ⑤ Employees shall increase work efficiency through active cooperation and communication between colleagues and related departments.
- ⑥ Employees shall seek to improve the quality of their work by cultivating their abilities through continuous self-improvement.
2. Credit Management
- ① Employees shall prevent bad transactions through accurate work processing in accordance with procedures and take responsibility for the results in case of insolvency.
- ② Employees shall go through a preliminary review of all credit transactions by the business team.
- ③ When a claim occurs, employees shall immediately report the exact details to their superiors and process them after receiving instructions.
- ④ When a situation that contradicts the original contract terms arises, employees shall exclude independent judgment and consult with their superiors and related departments.
- ⑤ Employees shall develop their ability to respond to insolvency by taking regular debt management training.
3. Time Management
- ① Employees shall strictly observe working hours and shall not tend to personal matters during working hours.
- ② Employees shall not play games, PC communication, or Internet access that are not related to work during working hours.
- ③ Employees shall not engage in their second job that may interfere with the company’s business.
- ④ Employees shall get prior approval for such involvements as attending external lectures from the HR Department even if it helps the company’s work or serves to enhance the company image.
4. Cost Management
- ① Employees shall be careful in using all company equipment and consumables as if they have paid for them.
- ② Employees shall refrain from using telephones and mobile phones for personal purposes.
- ③ Employees shall reduce overseas travel expenses, gift expenses, and entertainment expenses as much as possible, and refrain from eating out to promote unity among employees.
- ④ Employees shall use company assets for company duties and handle the spending in a transparent manner.
5. Business Relationship
- ① Employees shall not receive excessive entertainment or favors (more than 100,000 won per person, unpaid golf play, etc.) from business partners in relation to their duties.
- ② Employees shall not enjoy conveniences involved in monetary loans, collateral, loan guarantees, and building rentals from companies with whom they have business relationships, and shall not engage in investment, borrowing, or employment relationships with companies.
- ③ Employees shall not do business with relatives or business partners with whom they are personally acquainted.
- ④ Employees shall not provide indiscriminate congratulations and condolences to companies with business relationships.
- ⑤ Employees shall not provide gifts, money, valuables, entertainment, entertainment, etc., to stakeholders related to the company’s business beyond the level recognized by social norms, and shall not purchase goods and services of stakeholders at an amount higher than is considered acceptable.
6. Relations between Employees
- ① Employees shall not borrow excessive money from or provide guarantee loans to each other.
- ② Employees shall not solicit employment or promotions, excessive entertainment, or provide gifts to each other.
However, gifts given by superiors to subordinates and gifts prepared on behalf of a group on birthdays, anniversaries, etc. are exceptions. - ③ Employees shall pay congratulations or condolences only of their own will for the purpose of mutual aid within the scope recognized by social norms.
