The plate team had the MOU signing ceremony to purchase ∙ supply stainless among our company and POSCO TST in Turkey, BTH in Poland at the office of BTH which is the stainless customer located in KRAKOW, Poland on (Friday) September 11. Especially, marking the 10th anniversary of BTH’s foundation, the opening ceremony of a new factory was also held on this day.
 
Poland has continuously showed high growth based on its stable political base and active trades with EU countries. Especially, there are brisk investments in construction and infrastructure sectors and thereby, the stainless market has been expanding rapidly every year so it is one of the countries with great market potentials.

The MOU relates to purchase ∙ supply of stainless of 12,000 tons a year (24-million US dollars)
From now on, it is expected that the relations among our company and POSCO TST, BTH will be strengthened. In addition, it is considered that this MOU will be good opportunity for us to expand to the markets in Eastern Europe including Poland with great potentials.

In this regard, the managing director, Lee Ho emphasized “BTH in Poland is a very promising customer since it is located in Eastern Europe with relatively high growth potentials, considering that the stainless markets have become saturated due to worldwide oversupply” and he said “We will grow the Eastern European markets through more aggressive activities beyond the existing performance.”

With this remarkable performance, the plate team plans to speed up the ongoing product promotions for each overseas factory of POSCO. *
