Hyundai Corporation has started aggressively entering the African construction equipment market, which was unexplored before.
Hyundai Corporation has made a 13-million-dollar contract to supply 100 construction equipments to Ethiopia. The supplied equipments for this contract are excavators and wheel loaders, and these equipments are planning to be used in Ethiopian government’s large-scale construction field.
This is the first case of Hyundai Corporation’s construction equipment supply to Ethiopia as well as the first single supply contract over 10 million dollars in East African region.
It is said that the global network and negotiating power of Hyundai Corporation was the driving force of this contract. To enter the African construction market, Hyundai Corporation has strengthen the local marketing through the overseas networks such as Lagos branch, Alger branch and Cairo branch. Hyundai Corporation has pioneer new markets constantly in African countries including Algeria, Sudan, Zambia and Congo and increased the supply of products to this region.
Taking this opportunity, Hyundai Corporation is planning to promote the expansion of the Ethiopian construction equipment market as well as break into the neighboring areas including South Sudan and South Africa.
